Idealift is Sederma's trade name, not an INCI name, so it never appears as such on a compliant ingredient list. The functional active is acetyl dipeptide-1 cetyl ester, a lipopeptide of tyrosine and arginine that is acetylated and cetyl-esterified so it penetrates skin, typically used at around 4% of the blend. The same INCI is also sold under a soothing positioning, which is a reminder that a trade name describes marketing, not a mechanism. Two things matter when you read a label carrying it. First, position: in OKOA Dual Action Lifting Cream the peptide sits 19th, below the preservative, which is normal for peptides but means the formula is not peptide-loaded. Second, attribution: the immediate tightening people feel from that cream comes from sodium silicate and magnesium aluminum silicate near the top of the list, which dry into a temporary film. The peptide is the slow half, and its firming evidence is supplier-generated.
Evidence
Supplier evidence, not independent research. Sederma reports a single-blind, placebo-controlled, half-face study on 26 women with an average age of 62, using Idealift at 4% for two months: 80% reported firmer-looking, remodeled skin, 70% reported less saggy features, with net elasticity up 14%, skin density up 9.2% and jowl lift up 11.3%. Firmness moved 7.8% but did not reach significance. Elastin and fibrillin-1 figures quoted for the ingredient come from cell and explant models, which explain the proposed mechanism rather than proving an effect on skin.
