    What it does

A light, fast-absorbing emollient derived from coconut. Smooths skin, improves slip, and carries oil-soluble actives without leaving a greasy finish.

    Best for

Every skin type. Especially useful in formulas balancing rich actives with a non-greasy finish (most modern lifting creams).

    The full picture

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is the cosmetic name for medium-chain triglyceride oil derived from coconut. It is one of the most widely used emollients in modern skincare because it absorbs quickly, plays well with virtually every active, and has a long shelf life. It also acts as a delivery vehicle for fat-soluble actives like retinol, vitamin E, and CoQ10. Found in ALASTIN, Medik8, ISDIN, and goPure among others. Non-comedogenic for most skin types.

    Evidence

Reviewed safe by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review; widely used as a tolerable, non-comedogenic emollient base across the skincare industry.
