    What it does

A potent polyphenol antioxidant originally identified in red grape skins. Neutralizes free radicals, supports collagen production, and dampens inflammatory pathways linked to skin aging.

    Best for

Mature skin, longevity-focused routines, and PM use (it sensitizes less than retinol but pairs well with it).

    The full picture

Resveratrol is a stilbenoid polyphenol with a notable presence in red wine, grape skins, and Japanese knotweed. In skincare it is a triple-action active: a potent antioxidant, a SIRT1 activator (the longevity pathway), and a mild anti-inflammatory. Its weakness is stability: it oxidizes in light and air, so brands typically encapsulate it or pair it with vitamin C and E to extend potency. Found in numbuzin's No.9 NAD+ Bio Lifting-sil Essence as part of the longevity-positioning blend.

    Evidence

Topical resveratrol has been shown in clinical studies to improve fine lines, firmness, and skin radiance over 12 weeks of consistent use.
