Odalys Martinez Muñoz joins BestLiftingCream.com
Odalys Martinez Muñoz, a cosmetic chemist with 16 years of experience, joined the BestLiftingCream.com editorial team in September 2026 as our Cosmetic Ingredient Evaluator. Her job is to evaluate the cosmetic ingredients in the products we cover, and the effects those ingredients can have on your skin.
Odalys holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Havana and has worked as a cosmetic chemist at Suchel Fragancia and Suchel Debon, a Havana-based manufacturer of fragrances, cosmetics, and household products. Her full profile is on her author page.
What does a cosmetic ingredient evaluator do?
A cosmetic ingredient evaluator reads a product's full ingredient list and works out what each ingredient is there to do. On every formula, Odalys answers three questions:
- What does each active do? These are the ingredients behind a firming, brightening, or hydrating claim, such as peptides, niacinamide, and retinoids.
- How much of it is there? Ingredients above 1% are listed in descending order, so an active's position on the label is the best public clue to how much a formula contains.
- What else could affect your skin? For sensitive skin, fragrance components, alcohols, and preservatives can matter as much as the headline active.
Why we added an ingredient evaluator
Two anti-aging creams can make the same promise and share half their ingredients, and the differences that matter to you still hide further down the label. Our Estee Lauder vs Lancome comparison shows it well. The two flagship serums list the same second ingredient. What separates them for sensitive skin, fragrance and denatured alcohol, only shows up lower on the list.
Reading labels that closely, across the more than 170 products in our catalog, is a job of its own. Now one person owns it.
How Odalys works with the rest of the team
Odalys joins three existing members of the BLC editorial team:

Odalys's ingredient evaluations feed into Jadranka's chemistry review. So every ingredient conclusion on the site now passes through two chemists before it reaches you.
What stays the same
Our editorial independence does not change. Odalys has no financial relationship with any brand featured on the site, brands cannot pay for placement, and we do not earn commission on the products we cover. Our methodology still combines skin testing, ingredient analysis, and standardized scoring, and you can meet the whole team on our Who We Are page.
